Privacy policy
Effective date: November 8, 2026
Developer: IconDeck Team · Contact: [email protected]
1. In short
IconDeck does not send personal information to the developer. Your settings, notes, clipboard history, text read from your pictures and other data are stored only on your PC.
Some features that you turn on contact third-party services directly to get the information they need. When that happens, the service receives your IP address (see section 3).
2. Information the developer receives
- None. IconDeck has no sign-up, accounts, analytics, advertising or usage statistics.
- Purchases, payment, refunds and age checks are handled by Steam (Valve) under Valve’s privacy policy. The developer does not receive buyers’ names or payment details.
- Crash reports: turned off in the current version, so nothing is sent. If they are ever turned on, it will only be with your explicit opt-in, and the exact contents (error details and app version; never your computer name or personal file names) will be listed here first.
3. Requests features make to third-party services
These features work only when you turn them on or enter the details yourself, and IconDeck connects to the service directly (not through any server of the developer). Like any internet request, each service receives your IP address and the request itself.
| Feature | Service contacted | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Weather (clock, cube, notch, etc.) | MET Norway (api.met.no) | Coordinates of the city you chose (to two decimal places) and a User-Agent containing the app name and a contact address |
| Live notifications | The platform of each channel you add (Chzzk, YouTube, Twitch, SOOP, TikTok, Kick, Bilibili, TwitCasting, Niconico, etc.) | That channel’s address or ID |
| Calendar subscription (ICS) | The calendar address you enter | A request to that address |
| Remote kill switch (when you use streamer alerts) | GitHub | A request to read one public file (every 6 hours). No information about you is sent |
How each service handles the information it receives is governed by that service’s own privacy policy.
4. Data kept only on your PC
- Settings, widget layout, notes, schedules and to-dos, themes, copies of pictures you chose
- Clipboard history (when enabled): encrypted with Windows user-account protection (DPAPI)
- Text index for pictures in the archive (when enabled): read on your PC with Windows’ built-in text recognition and encrypted with DPAPI. Neither the pictures nor the text leave your PC
- Now-playing information, device battery levels, volume and similar values are read from Windows only to display them; they are not stored or sent
- The app log (
logs) records errors and actions only; it never records your content such as song, channel or file names
All of this is removed when you uninstall the app or delete the data folder (%APPDATA%\IconDeck). You can back it up yourself with “Settings backup” in the app settings.
5. Children
IconDeck is not directed at children under 13 (under 14 in the Republic of Korea), and it does not collect personal information from anyone.
6. Workshop (themes uploaded by users)
Uploads go through the Steam Workshop; storage of uploaded content and handling of copyright notices follow Valve’s terms and procedures. Theme share codes are text strings that users exchange directly with each other; they are not stored on any server of the developer.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the date and the changes will be announced on the Steam store page and on this page.
8. This website
- This site has no sign-up, cookies, visitor statistics or ads.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com,fonts.gstatic.com), so Google receives your IP address and browser information. - Text you paste into “Make the widget you want with AI” on the home page is read only inside your browser and is not sent anywhere.
- Links such as “Open ChatGPT” in that section open the service’s own site in a new tab. The guide you paste there contains none of your data, and whatever you write in that service is governed by its own privacy policy.
- If you close the other-language notice, only the fact that you closed it is kept in your browser’s storage.
- The hosting provider that serves this site may keep standard access logs (such as IP addresses).
